Chronic Post-Ischemia Pain Model
Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS) is a chronic pain condition often characterized by hyperalgesia and allodynia of the extremities. CRPS is divided into two types: CRPS-I, which occurs without confirmed nerve injury, and CRPS-II, which involves known nerve injury. Neuropathic inflammation, particularly the activation of peripheral nociceptors in C-fibers, plays a critical role in the development of CRPS.
